The economics subject area is designed for specialists in specialists in company and market analysis, macroeconomic process modelling and development of macroeconomic policy, behavioral and experimental economics, innovation science, labour economics, human capital assets, economics of the public sector and state finances, modelling and prediction for development of major social-economic systems, analysis and modelling of consumer choice, analysis and decision making in complex systems management and many other promising fields. What is more, this subject area allows to train specialists capable of assessing economic solutions with regard to socially important criteria (social justice, for instance).

Graduates from economics programs can work in analytical and financial departments of operating and financial companies, as well as governmental structures responsible for the development and implementation of national economic policy. National Research University — Higher School of Economics is among Russia’s and Europe’s biggest social and economic research universities. It trains economists, sociologists, philologists, linguists, mathematicians, physicists and engineers, designers and IT specialists.
