MIPT

Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) is the country’s leading technical university. It is included in several global rankings, and its students win international competitions in physics, mathematics and programming.

MIPT trains students in not just fundamental sciences, but also programming, mathematical physics, computer science, biophysics and bioinformatics, as well as modeling and management of technological projects.

A network of affiliated departments, which includes leading institutions of the Russian Academy of Sciences and MIPT’s laboratories, allow students to conduct scientific research as part of the educational process. Scientists of Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology are working on a graphene-based plasmonic biosensor and superconductive qubit, study the atmosphere of Venus and light-sensitive membrane proteins.

Amongst the university’s graduates are Nobel prize winners Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov, as well as renowned entrepreneurs like ABBYY founder David Yang, Aleksandr Fedotov, owner of Forbes Russia, and Ratmir Timashev, founder and CEO of Veeam Software.
